It started many, many years ago after the birth of my first born. I was a young Mother who didn’t have any friends that had babies of their own. I slipped into a depression known as Post Partum Depression. It was long and hard, it was depressing and I didn’t want it to ever happen to me, or anyone else, ever again.
As I grew into womanhood, I realized many things about myself. I love to get out and meet people, more over, I love to help people. I love to make connections.
After having my second child in 2009, I was elated and over joyed. I couldn’t wait to get out and meet other new moms and do fun stuff with our babies. It was then that I met my partner Karen, who also had young baby.
Karen, myself and a small number of new moms started to go out on fun playdates together. The more fun we had, the more we wanted to sprinkle the love. Our small group became so large, we recognized the need for support and connections between parents.
Karen and I began to plan a group for all parents to join free of charge. Through some minor and some major Cupcake labour pains, a little blood, sweat and tears, makepeacewithfoodchangeyourlife.com was born!
The ultimate goal of Cupcake Mommies is to reach out and touch all parents. To create that support system in their life and to create life-long friendships.
Parenting can be the best or the worst time of your life, regardless, you shouldn’t spend it alone.
